Mr. Brakefield has been a Nashville commercial real estate agent since 1986, first with CB Richard Ellis and then with the Chas. Hawkins Co., Inc. since 1999.
He has been involved in transactions with a consideration in excess of $500,000,000 for more than 25,000,000 square feet of space.
Prior Experience
Prior to entering the real estate brokerage business, Mr. Brakefield proudly served in the armed forces of the United States. He was also involved in the maintenance and management of apartment properties for a short time before he began his brokerage career.
Mr. Brakefield received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Houston in 1983. He graduated from the Hillsboro School, a multi-denominational academic, arts and athletics high school in Nashville, TN.
Mr. Brakefield has completed SIOR courses 101, 103, 201 and 203; and CCIM courses 100, 101, 102, 301, 401 and 410.
Mr. Brakefield is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and is currently serving as the President of SIOR Middle and East Tennessee Chapter. He is a former board member, former committee chair and is currently on two committees of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors and served as the President of the Commercial Investment Division for two years. He is an Institute Affiliate member of the National Association of Realtors.
Mr. Brakefield has exclusively represented tenants; exclusively marketed user properties; exclusively marketed investment properties; completed build-to-suit transactions; invested in existing, speculative and build-to-suit projects; done consulting work; and arranged for project financing.
