Bio

As a senior vice president and principal in Newmark Pearson Commercial's Industrial Division, Ethan H. Smith, SIOR, CCIM, is able to draw on extensive marketing experience that he acquired before beginning his commercial real estate career in 2003.

Ethan began his career in sales in 1995 with E & J Gallo Winery, where he sold multiple product lines and introduced numerous new products through a variety of retail channels. In 1996, Ethan transitioned to advertising at DDB Worldwide, where he focused on integrated sales promotions and relationship marketing and was responsible for managing the agency's multi-million-dollar relationships with such clients as American Airlines, Interstate Batteries, Frito-Lay and Pepsi. He left the agency in 1999 to help start PeoplePC, an Internet service provider, where he was responsible for all customer marketing programs in addition to serving as a member of the founding management team. Ethan was integral to the marketing department's growth from two to 40 people and the company's expansion into Europe and Asia. In 2001, Ethan moved to iPrint Technologies, where he headed the company's acquisition and retention marketing programs.

Since joinging Newmark's industrial department Ethan has particpated in several hundred transactions and is consistently a top-performer in the company. Ethan is a shareholder and member of his company's Board of Directors. Ethan has been involved with agency, tenant rep, acquisiton and disposition projects for local and multi-market clients. Recent deals include representing Amazon.com on its new 855,000 SF regional fulfillment center, the sale of a 800,000 SF multi-building warehouse portfolio, the lease of a 122,000 SF Class "A" warehouse and the sale of over 20 lots in a new industrial subdivision.

Ethan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing, with concentrations in finance and philosophy.
