2023-2025 SIOR Global Regional Directors

SIOR Global is seeking to fill five (5) Regional Director, each serving for a 2-year term. Regional Directors play a key role as the main volunteer liaison between chapter leaders and SIOR Global leadership.

  • SIOR Central Region | Colorado, Iowa-Nebraska, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Western Missouri-Kansas Chapters
  • SIOR Mid-Atlantic Region | Maryland/DC/Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania, and Virginia Chapters
  • SIOR Northwest Region | Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington Chapters
  • SIOR Southeast Region | Carolinas, Georgia, Memphis, and Middle & East Tennessee Chapters
  • SIOR Southwest Region | Austin/Central TX, DFW/North TX, El Paso Southwest, Houston/Gulf Coast, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and San Antonio/South TX Chapters
Candidates may only apply for the region in which their chapter belongs.


  • Provide guidance to chapter leadership within the region; facilitate best practice sharing and success stories; understand each chapter’s strengths and challenges
  • Foster communication between SIOR Leadership, HQ team, chapter leaders, and among chapters within the region
  • Enable chapter alignment with SIOR’s strategic plan and ensure that chapters in their region are informed of Board actions and activities
  • Attend at least one meeting/event of each chapter in the region outside of their home chapter
  • Manage discussion and planning of regional conferences/meetings
  • Attend the Spring Leadership Conference, Fall Professional Conference, and SIOR’s biannual conferences as well; participate in all CLC and Regional Director meetings
  • In areas within their region where there is no chapter jurisdiction, communicate with individual members to keep them informed and involved, and process membership applications from applicants, including interviewing and confirming GFI
  • Seek out future leadership within the region for SIOR Leadership, including future Regional Directors
  • Serve on the Nominating Committee for a two-year term after completing two-year term as Regional Director


While not required, candidates should strive to meet the following recommended qualifications:

  • 3+ years of SIOR service resulting in meaningful contributions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the 5-year strategic plan
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SIOR’s membership requirements and admissions process
  • Recent experience as a chapter leader and/or active involvement at the chapter level
  • Experience as chair or vice chair on an SIOR committee, task force, or member group a plus

In addition to the above, strong candidates will demonstrate one or more of the following skills:

  • Strategic planning experience, either with SIOR or other company/organization
  • Capacity to look at issues from different perspectives
  • Ability to be an impactful communicator and consensus builder with a desire to find common ground
  • Social media proficiency
