EXPERIENCE
Chris Bogenrief was the top producing Realtor in the Sioux City market in 2010 and has been the market’s first and second highest producing commercial broker since 2009. Chris has been involved in commercial real estate since 1995. Prior to founding United Commercial as president in July 2005, Chris was a commercial broker associate for Century 21 Davenport & Associates for 2 ½ years.
Prior to joining Century 21 Davenport in February 2003, Chris Bogenrief was marketing manager for Dakota Dunes Development Company in Dakota Dunes, SD. Chris brought with him from Dakota Dunes nearly eight years of marketing and commercial real estate development experience. As marketing manager, Chris oversaw the company's marketing efforts with focus on commercial sales and was responsible for the recruitment of office, medical, retail, and light industrial clients for Dakota Dunes' business, medical and retail parks. Chris also worked closely with economic development and government officials on local, state, and federal levels. Dakota Dunes is a 2,000-acre, master-planned community owned and developed by Dakota Dunes Development Company, a non-regulated subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company headquartered in Des Moines, IA and majority-owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
Before joining Dakota Dunes in October 1995, Chris served as staff assistant for U.S. Congressman Tom Latham operating his Sioux City office. Chris was responsible for managing and operating the Sioux City district office, representing the Congressman throughout a five-county area and traveling with the Congressman to special functions and town meetings throughout the 30-county congressional district.
Previous to working for Congressman Latham, Chris was project coordinator for Main Street Sioux City, a downtown development organization now known as Downtown Partners. Chris was responsible for the coordination and image of promotional events and design efforts toward downtown revitalization and business recruitment, working closely with downtown property and business owners.
EDUCATION
Chris received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of South Dakota. He graduated Cum Laude from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA with a Bachelor of Arts degree double-majoring in Business Administration with a marketing emphasis and Corporate Communications. Chris also studied abroad at Edge Hill College in Ormskirk, Lancashire, England.
BACKGROUND
A native of Kingsley, IA who spent his middle and high school years in Hampton, IA, Chris currently resides in the Loess Hills north of Sioux City, IA with his wife Joy, teacher at Covington Elementary in South Sioux City, NE, three children Blake, Benjamin, and Adeline, dog, three cats, wild turkey, deer, possum, coons & woodchucks.
